A More Personal Option in Caesarean Births

“It is almost a year since I had the privilege of performing Frances Perry House’s first maternally assisted Caesarean, helping Kate deliver her son Ned into the world. An absolute honour and more booked to come. A wonderful way to help a woman interact in her birth process!”
– Dr Peter Jurcevic

What is a Maternal Assisted Caesarean?

With increasing rates of medical intervention and, in particular, Caesarean sections, the Maternal Assisted Caesarean has evolved to enhance a woman’s interaction with the birth process, with minimal risk, but maximum satisfaction. Just as after a normal birth, a woman often delivers her baby up and onto her chest, here a woman can reach down and equally bring her newborn immediately onto her chest, allowing for that important early bonding and with delayed cord clamping as well. It is incredibly satisfying for all involved. Find out more about Maternal Assisted Caesareans here.
